Lifelong 20/20 Patient
Background
I’m Tyler Williams, a lifelong patient at 20/20 Eye Care. I’m a recent graduate from Randolph High School and I’m on my way to Emory University in the fall. I am on track to major in business and I have a strong passion for the science world, especially in the biology and health science fields.
My 20/20 Eye Care Experience
20/20 has been a large part of my life ever since I was born. Both of my parents are brutally nearsighted which has made our family long-time patients of Dr. William Pittenger. It has also made me destined for glasses at a young age. Fortunate for me, we’ve always received top quality care at 20/20 Eye Care.
In school, I got around my nearsightedness by sitting at the front of the class or squinting at the board, but it was unavoidable in athletics. From being a goalie in hockey to a regular hitter in baseball, not being able to see objects flying at me was detrimental to my performance! I knew something had to be done, but I was always scared of the aesthetic of glasses. I told Dr. Pittenger about this fear along with my failed attempts at over-the-counter glasses and sports goggles. Within minutes, he was able to find a brand of contacts that were comfortable and convenient. He even helped me with the tedious process of putting contacts in for the first time. From then on, every time I got on the ice or stepped up to the plate, I had full confidence in my abilities. I am proud to say that my revitalized eyesight has lead me to three state championships throughout high school.
My family remains exceptionally happy under the care of Dr. Neena James and her associates. The remarkably skilled doctors and comforting environment have made 20/20 Eye Care so much more than just my eye doctor.
My Role at 20/20 Eye Care
This summer I will be helping to spread the 20/20 Eye Care name throughout North Alabama. You can find me visiting clinics, offices, schools, and athletic complexes to hand out 20/20 merchandise. I will also be helping them with their social media, mainly on Instagram and Facebook. I am extremely excited to help Dr. James, Dr. Summerlin, and Dr. Scott take on the next chapter of 20/20 Eye Care.
